I know that in the short time I’ve been blogging, I’ve already mentioned Florabella actions several times, and I get the distinct feeling that this will be a recurring trend. I am amazed EVERY SINGLE DAY with how these actions can transform an image. My most recent discovery is that you should try something, even if you believe it’s not gonna work out. (This is good advice for life too- not just Photoshop!) I randomly chose one of Florabella’s black and white actions, and WOW! It turned a dull and lifeless picture into a photo that I would be proud to hang on my own wall. The only other adjustment I made was to brighten + sharpen her eyes just a tad. Other than that, this edit is 100% thanks to Florabella.

I absolutely love looking at before and after pictures. I think it’s a great learning tool for photographers, especially new ones (like me!) to see how to get from point A to point B. I plan on doing a lot more of these posts in the future, plus some step by steps to see how the magic actually happens.
Pretty slim pickings for this weeks contest at i heart faces. The theme is purple and despite it being a very “in” color lately, I haven’t captured many faces with purple complements. With just a handful to choose from, I decided to go with this photo of the dynamic duo. These two little girls are the very best of friends. I’m a firm believer in making friends for life, and I have no doubt that these two little sweeties are in it for the long haul! Seriously, their love for eachother just radiates. It’s simply a joy just to see them interact together. (In fact, I’m very much looking forward to our playdate this week- they haven’t seen eachother in over a month, so I can just image the hugs and giggles we’ll have in store!) I wish every friendship could be as simple and pure as theirs is.
