{ this is my life } | family photoshoot in cocoa beach

Ahh.. I finally did it. I finally finished editing an entire session. HOORAY! Perhaps this will lead to me finishing more sessions. :) This is the shoot I did with my family earlier this month while vacationing in Cocoa Beach. I gotta get more streamlined with my editing process. Just another thing to add to my to do list! Enjoy these pictures of my super cute nephews and my purdy mom and gorgeous seester!

{ this is my life } | another milestone

It’s been a busy August around these parts. Had a family vacation, been editing like a mad woman, researching and finding inspiration for my marketing materials, and designing my very good friends wedding invitations. I’ve also been trying to soak up every last minute with this beautiful little girl before she ventures off into the world of first grade.

For over five years, I have been fortunate enough to take care of this super sweet girl. I’ve been with her through some of the biggest milestones, like her first steps and her big girl bed and potty training, and now first grade. I just can’t believe how much life has changed in the past five years. I met an amazing man, I moved three times, I adopted three cats, I bought a new car, I married that amazing man, and now I’m starting my photography business. I honestly believe that none of that would have happened had I not been welcomed into the home of this wonderful family. I’m thankful every single day that they took a chance on me over five years ago.

I hope that this year gives her a chance to grow and explore who she is. After going to her opening house on Thursday and having no less that three people tell us how AMAZING and WONDERFUL her teacher is, I have no doubt that she’ll be able to flourish. I hope she’ll remember this time in her life. And if she doesn’t, I will at least do my very best to document it from behind the lens. Good luck in first grade Amy… you’re gonna do great things!

{ freebies } | pink and turquoise business card freebie!

businesscard.jpg

Ahh, it’s about time! Several weeks ago I mentioned that I would be putting some business card templates up on the blog, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I finally have one of the templates ready for posting! This is the template I used for my own business cards and they turned out beautifully! I had mine printed through WHCC. I used their rep cards and had them printed on pearl paper with UV coating on both sides. They are awesome quality with just the right amount of sparkle!

I’ve included the templates for both WHCC and Millers.

I designed these in Photoshop CS5, so I assume they should work in CS2 and above, although I make no guarantees.

I don’t have time to give step by step instructions, so I suggest you be fairly comfortable with Photoshop to use these templates. I did try to make them as easy to understand as I could. They’re fairly simple! :)

The background papers are from the blush digital paper pack over at Sassy Designs. Font credit goes to Fonts for Peas.

I already have two more business cards to give out as freebies very soon. I just gotta get my husband to put them on the server. Why don’t you fan us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter so you can stay in the loop! (I plan on sharing all my designs as I develop my marketing materials!)
