{ freebie! } | Colorful Free Marketing Card for Photographers!

Today I finally want to share this FREE folded marketing card that I created when I first started my business in 2010. I had them printed on folded 5×7 pearlescent cards from Black River Imaging Lab. They looked so amazing and helped me represent my brand in a way that was fun and colorful, just what I wanted people to think of when they saw my photos. All the colors are fully customizable, so you can really make this your own. The template should work in Photoshop CS2 and above. I tried to make it really easy to understand for those that aren’t super familiar with clipping masks. All the layers are nice and organized, and there’s even an alternate layout for the left side on the inside! I hope this template will be useful to you and your photo (or other!) business!! (You don’t even have to have these printed to make a big impact! During my first year in business, I sent these as a PDF to inquiring clients!)

Ahh, vacation isn’t only good for your soul, but sometimes your business! I’ve gotten so caught up with work, that I’ve actually had time to edit some personal shots! Here are a few shots of my nephews that I took a few months ago at Rotary Park in Cape Coral. We only kept their attention for a short while (they especially loved when I told them to choke each other, haha!), but I think we did get some cute pics. I may or may not have had to do a few head swaps to get them both smiling in the same picture, but I do think it’s okay to fudge history a little bit, especially when it comes to brothers!

I am on vacation this week on Cocoa Beach, but Tropical Storm Debby has sure made enjoying the beach difficult. While we haven’t gotten a ton of rain (umm.. I think this is the only spot in Florida that didn’t!), it’s been enough to keep us indoors more than we would have liked. I’ve taken advantage of this time to catch up on editing and just play a little. I did a little experimenting with my black and whites and I AM IN LOVE! I finally found a black and white conversion that I love, and the best part is that it can be applied right over my color edit without needing any adjustments. I tested it on about 15 different photos and it looked awesome on all of them. Yippee!!! So you can expect to see many, many more black and white edits from me in the future. In honor of my new find, I’ve decided to post these pictures from a recent child head shot/dance shoot all in black and white.
