{ Bob the Cat } | Orlando Family Photographer

In all the time I’ve had this blog going, I don’t believe I’ve ever posted photos of my furbabies. I’d like that to change, so today I’m sharing with you 1/3!

Meet Bob:

Bob was my husband and I’s first adoption. We found him at the SPCA Orlando when he was a year old. I think he’s about 6 years old now.. I don’t know, I lose track of time quite easily. He is a funny guy. That picture above? That’s where I always find him when I’m in the kitchen cooking. He jumps up, puts his head on the counter, and breathes his heave breaths. (He is a huge cat! Absolutely the longest I’ve ever seen. He’s not really weight heavy, just large.) The real reason he is there isn’t because he wants to watch me cook… he’s hungry and is waiting for the beautiful moment when I fill his dish.

Bob has so many unique quirks. Most notable is the fact that he doesn’t like to feel stupid. When playing with a laser pointer, he’ll run around and chase it and at the moment when he *thinks* he got the darn thing, he’ll peek under his paws and realize he failed.. again. Instead of searching for it immediately like the other cats.. Bob keeps his stance and turns it into a stretch as if to say, “Oh yeah, I totally meant to do that!” He does this every.single.time.

Mr. Bob also gets bored and paces from room to room looking for something to do. He loves his cat tree and insists on being on top, even if he has to kick another kitty out. Which is funny to us because he is such a pansy! He is deathly afraid of children. Any time a kid is in the house, he hides immediately. For some reason that we can’t figure out, he cannot seem to resist chirping at us and then running upstairs when we call to him a few times from the upstairs balcony. Bob hates to be picked up, so he dodges under chairs and runs a little faster when we pass. Sometimes I sneak attack him and when I do succeed in picking him up, he gets so pathetic and sad, which I of course think is adorable.

I think because he was our first, I hold just a *little* extra love in my heart for him. He is far less cuddly than the other two, although when he wants to cuddle, he goes all out. And when I’m cuddling with another and I see him looking on the couch for a spot, I don’t hesitate to kick the other cat out to make room for him. Does this make me a horrible pet mom?! haha. It’s just the moments are few, so I like to take advantage. :)

That was just a little backstory about Bob (can you believe we named our cat Bob?!) and now here’s are a few pictures. :)

And you know what makes Bob just a little extra special? Why I have just a *little* more love in my heart for him? He wears his heart on his belly!

Here’s a camera phone shot that shows it a little better…

He’s also an excellent driver…

Awe I loved the little story about Bob. Love his heart too! You’re not a bad pet mom. Everyone has a “heart animal.” Mine is Hogwarts!

  2. [...] Bob, our tiger striped, is the least cuddly, but has no problems jumping on the bed on days he’s particularly hungry.  His usual choice to wake me up is by kneading my back with his enormous claws. [...]
