{ i heart faces } | Enjoying Life

This months theme over on I Heart Faces is Enjoying Life.  The picture below isn’t some fabulous work of art with beautiful back lighting and perfect technical execution, but I could not think of a photo that means more to me.  This is my amazing grandma, enjoying life, completely.  It may sound a little silly to some, but Krispy Kreme doughnuts is kind of a big deal to her.  She doesn’t have any local to her in Southwest Florida, so when on vacation in South Carolina, we went out of our way to get her to the one place she wanted to visit. I am pretty sure that it’s the happiest I’ve seen her in a long time!  She splurged on a new coffee mug, and had not one, but TWO, hot and fresh doughnuts while we were there, and of course had to bring home enough to last the rest of our trip!  This picture now hangs as a 20×30 mounted print (and even larger frame!) in my kitchen. It’s really become the focal point of my home and I believe this picture will become a treasured family heirloom.

I think we could all learn a lesson from my grandma. It really is the little things in life that make life worth living.  Family, friends, adventures and doughnuts… especially doughnuts!

{ i heart faces } | weekly photo contest – Hugs & Kisses

I_Heart_Faces_noborder_125x100.jpg

This weeks theme at i heart faces is “Hugs & Kisses.” I haven’t entered an I Heart Faces challenge in quite sometime, but with this challenge theme, I knew just the picture! Here’s a recent shot of my friend and her cutie pie little man. There were a lot of truly sweet moments between the two of them during our session, but this one really stuck out to me. I love the nose scrunch and the love that just radiates from the two of them. They are the just the cutest!

{ i heart faces } | weekly photo contest – Touch of Sun

I_Heart_Faces_noborder_125x100.jpg

This weeks theme at i heart faces is “a touch of sun.” I chose this shot because it’s definitely one of my favorite sunny shots from one of my super fun 2011 senior clients. With the sun just above the building, this was a perfect spot for a little sun flare experiementing. Luckily I had a model that was patient enough to let me play with my settings until I got it just right.
