A few months ago, I was contacted by The Bouqs Company, asking me if I would post a review on my blog in exchange for a complimentary bouquet of flowers. Of course, I jumped at the chance, because hey, who doesn’t love fresh, pretty flowers?!
I ordered my bouquet on October 29th and had delivery set for November 4th. Around 6:30pm on Nov. 4th, there was a knock on my door and there sat a box holding my bouquet. (You can choose to require a signature on delivery to avoid flowers going unnoticed on the front porch.) It’s been a long time since we’ve had a fresh bouquet of flowers in the house, so I was quite excited.
Being somewhat of a designer, my first impression was how stylish the packaging was. I love their logo and the bold, yet simplistic design of the box. It makes a statement without going overboard. The box was very sturdy. Absolutely no dents or scuffs. I would be very pleased to have this show up as a gift on a loved one’s door step.
After opening the package, the pleasing design aesthetics continue with a very clear breakdown of all the steps you need to take before placing your flowers in a vase. This is great for people like me who aren’t too green thumby.
Once the box is opened, there’s a card with a cute note from The Bouqs team. I imagine this might be where you would put a personalized note if you were sending this as a gift. Since I was sending this bouquet to myself, I didn’t fill out the note area, although I suppose I missed a good chance to shower myself with love and praise!
The flowers were wrapped in thick cardboard that protected them from being crushed in shipping. I don’t know much about mail order flowers, but I can assume you would want super great packaging since flowers are so delicate. The Bouqs delivered, as none of my flowers were at all damaged.
After following all the directions, I placed my flowers in the vase and admired them. I chose the Dawn Bouquet in original size. They were really true to color according to the photos on the website. And instead of 12 roses, my bouquet included 14. Bonus! Unfortunately, I ended up going out of town the following day unexpectedly so I didn’t have a chance to photograph them once they hydrated and opened up. My husband assures me they were beautiful and made the house smell great!
I was out of town for 6 days, and they still looked great when I got home, despite not having any fresh water. I’d say they would last 8-10 days if well cared for. Maybe even longer.
My favorite part about these flowers is the price. My bouquet had a value of $40, and with just $10 more, you can double the amount of flowers. All of their bouquets are uniformly priced. $40 for orignal, $50 for deluxe, and $70 for grand. This is a nice change from other flower sites that I’ve looked at. Whenever I’ve contemplated ordering flowers, I always ended up not because I hated the variations in prices and the crazy upcharges for a few more flowers. And the absolute most very best part? FREE SHIPPING! I don’t know about anyone else, but I am wayyy more likely to order something if I don’t have to “waste” money on shipping. Flowers costing what they do, who wants to spend an additional $15 to ship them? So much value in these pretty flowers!
All in all, I really loved my flowers and I 100% plan to use them again. In fact, I think my grandma will be receiving a bouquet in the very near future.
The Bouqs Company sent me a complimentary bouquet of flowers in exchange for an honest review.
